Digital Hardcore – gatunek muzyczny ³±cz±cy w sobie elementy muzyki gitarowej (przede wszystkim hardcore punk) z ciê¿szymi odmianami muzyki elektronicznej (hardcore techno, jungle, breakbeat, industrial, noise). Nazwa gatunku pochodzi od wytwórni za³o¿onej przez Aleca Empire – Digital Hardcore Recordings i pierwotnie odnosi³a siê do zrzeszonych w niej grup. Sam Alec Empire by³ frontmanem pierwszego zespo³u digital hardcore – Atari Teenage Riot. Wszyscy jego cz³onkowie wywodzili siê z berliñskiej sceny techno i punk. Odcinaj±c siê od skomercjalizowanego i faszyzuj±cego ¶wiatka muzyki techno i nieewoluuj±cego punk rocka, stworzyli w³asny gatunek, ³±cz±cy w sobie najbardziej radykalne elementy techno i punk.
